I have been working at the Arches for three years since graduating from my Fine Art degree. Over this time I have developed myself as a landscape and still life painter, using a variety of approaches to my work. Experimentation often plays a crucial role in this, continually expanding my use of visual language in the medium of paint. Whatever I explore, I maintain observation as an in-dispensable tool that informs everything I do, even when the purpose has less (or nothing) to do with an accurate rendering of the subject matter. This is my fourth year at the Arches, and sees the beginning of a new style emerging in my work which is both semi-abstract in style while making use of negative space to achieve a neutral and more environmentally adaptable result.
