Pauline Pratt

People are ever present in Pauline’s work but we only sense their presence, guess at personalities, question if they are one on their own or part of a community.

Genetic research and visualisation is always around Pauline as an artist in residence in the School of Medicine at the University of Southampton. Her fine art driven practice includes making large scale paintings, installations, wall based digital photographs and films. Pauline lives and works in Southampton and has exhibited in Southampton’s city wide show ArtVaults, the Millais Gallery, Southampton Solent University, the Bargate Monument Gallery and has a film screening and commission for the Somers/IDS building based at the Southampton General Hospital.

Pauline has been the recipient of funding from the Arts, Research and Humanities Council, the Leverhulme Trust and most recently a National Lottery through Arts Council England Award to support the development and the tour of her most recent work: Faith. This exhibition is a specially designed science lab where the audience has the opportunity to give a sample of their own DNA, so adding to the visual archive of microscopic slides that display the very essence of us. For more information about Faith please visit www.faithinteractive.co.uk and www.yougottahave.co.uk.  The School of Medicine, University of Southampton and the arts organisation a space also support this art:science touring exhibition
